Regional Health Promotion in an Age-Friendly Digital World in Switzerland

A research project within the framework of the NET4Age-Friendly COST Action and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF)

Older people generally use the internet less frequently than younger people, but some of them are also open to access health-related information on the internet. The extent to which older people accept health information from the internet remains unclear, however, as does whether they exchange information online with health experts and/or other older persons with similar health-related questions. Therefore, this project will explore the needs of older persons in relation to accessing such health-related information on the internet. The project will also identify the obstacles that may be encountered in seeking such information and the potential associated with it. The results will inform the design of a regionally oriented website concept for digitally supported healthy aging.

The School of Social Work FHNW leads the project, to which practice partners and a committee of scientific experts also contribute their expertise.
